Health resort of Hohenkirchen
Hohenkirchen is the geographical and economic centre of the resort district of Wangerland. It is only a few minutes by car to the major tourist resorts of Horumersiel-Schillig and Hooksiel. There are, of course, in addition, good cycle path connections leading to the beach. Hohenkirchen is in any case a good location for guests who enjoy extensive bicycle tours. The over 200 k long cycle path network of the region branches out in all directions and is connected to the international North Sea cycle path system. It's certainly worth going to see the local church which lends its name to the village and which houses the Joachim Kaiser Organ and the Muenstermann Alter. Hohenkirchen supports a vigorous range of local societies whose activities are as much thrown open to visitors as are the highly popular shanty concerts.
